Shongololo Express
The Shongololo Express began operating in 1995, providing a special train safari experience for visitors to Southern and East Africa. The Shongololo Express train travels seven countries: South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, and Namibia. The train travels at night with daily stops at the top tourist destinations enabling the passengers to get off the train to explore and experience the exquisite landscape, diverse culture, heritage and wildlife of Africa with the experienced Shongololo Express tour guides.
Shongololo Express and SATIB Conservation Trust have formed a partnership whereby Friends and Supporters of SATIB Conservation Trust are offered special rates on the Shongololo Express journeys and Shongololo Express donates 20% of these fares to SATIB Conservation Trust projects. In addition Shongololo Express makes in-kind donations of equipment, materials and transportation services to SATIB Conservation Trust’s Hwange Lion Project.
WildCRU
Founded in 1986, WildCRU is part of the University of Oxford, within the Department of Zoology. It is a recognised world leader tackling the emerging biodiversity crisis and wider environmental issues by bridging the gap between academic theory and practical problem solving. WildCRU, with over 50 researchers, is one of the largest and most productive conservation research institutes in the world. With a longstanding specialization in wild carnivores, and supported by Panthera, it is now pursuing the goal to become the world’s foremost university centre for felid conservation research. SATIB Conservation Trust has been a supporter of WildCRU’s Hwange Lion Project for over 5 years.
South African National Parks
South African National Parks manages a system of parks which represents the indigenous fauna, flora, landscapes and associated cultural heritage of South Africa. It is the leading conservation authority in all national parks around South Africa, responsible for 3 751 113 hectares of protected land in 20 national parks.
SCT supports the work of The Conservation Services Department of SANParks, and in particular the Veterinary Wildlife Services unit that is responsible for coordination of research on wildlife disease and their impact on human livelihoods, wildlife itself, and livestock.
Wilderness Foundation
The Wilderness Conservancy, based in the USA, is dedicated to the conservation of endangered and threatened wildlife and wild places, on land or within the sea. SATIB Conservation Trust has worked with the Wilderness Foundation to fund a Bat Hawk Aircraft to assist anti-poaching efforts in Niassa National Reserve.
WESSA
WESSA (the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa) is a South African environmental organisation with a mission to implement high impact environmental and conservation projects that promote public participation in caring for the Earth. SATIB Conservation Trust is working in collaboration with WESSA on the Elephants Alive project in Kruger.

SATIB Insurance Brokers
It was the decision of SATIB Insurance Brokers that resulted in the formation of SATIB Conservation Trust. SIB continues to support the Trust, financially and with logistical, secretarial and day-to-day operating expenses, enabling the Trust to ensure that donor-funding is 100% allocated to nominated research projects. In addition, SIB provides insurance protection to various research projects, in particular the legal liability protection on research programmes.
Great Wall Motors South Africa
Great Wall Motors South Africa (GWM SA) launched in South Africa seven years ago and today has a national dealer network of 75 dealers, over 50 000 GWM vehicles on the country’s roads, as well as a parts distribution warehouse with in excess of R160 million of stock. GWM has generously donated 4 vehicles to SATIB Conservation Trust projects and continues to be a close friend of SATIB Conservation Trust with the Chairman of GWM SA, Tony Pinfold, a Trustee of the Trust.
Jaguar Land Rover
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is embarking on a massive growth strategy, building a strong foundation for its brands in all markets globally and across South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. JLR has recently donated 2 vehicles to SATIB Conservation Trust projects.
DHL
DHL specializes in logistics including express deliveries worldwide, freight forwarding with planes, trucks, ships and trains, warehousing services, international mail deliveries and customized and specialized shipping. DHL generously provides global courier services in support of our research projects. Among the many items they have carried for us, DHL has transported lion blood samples, dung samples and testing equipment for several of SATIB Conservation Trust’s projects.
